Third Grade Literary Suite
The third grade literary suite the focus on what makes a good story. Teachers receive a task menu with accompanying tasks and slides. These slides use a variety of tools to engage students to promote an understanding of plot, character, setting and theme. The tasks range from concepts to deepening knowledge and were created on an intentional progression to support the standards. Additionally, the family resource guide (which also comes in Spanish) is included for clarity and support at home. The mentor text slides create a space for teachers to model skills that can be used more than once.

Fourth Grade Literary Suite
The fourth grade literary suite focuses on digging deeper into the story elements. Teachers receive a task menu with accompanying tasks and slides. These slides use a variety of tools to engage students to promote an understanding of plot, character, setting and theme. 3-5 Grades Nonfiction Suite
Engage students through deliberate and rigorous practice with the EmpowerED Learner grades 3-5 nonfiction suite’s formative task menus and slides. From conceptual understanding to application of knowledge, the elements of the suite follow an intentional progression to support the standards.


6-8 Grades Literary Suite
In grades 6-8, students are asked to move beyond comprehending a text to analyzing it. Students are asked to analyze authors’ choices about characters, settings, and plots to deepen understanding of the texts. In addition, readers must understand how a theme is developed over the course of a text. In addition, students are asked to analyze characters' interactions, dialogue, and responses over the course of a text and determine how they propel the plot and develop the theme.
6-8 Grades Nonfiction Suite
In grades 6-8, students are asked to navigate and make meaning of nonfiction texts. In addition, students must determine a central idea and cite evidence to support an analysis of a nonfiction text. In addition, readers must determine the importance of text structure and text features. Furthermore, students are asked to write an objective summary. Students are expected to compare and contrast information for multiple texts and integrate information to deepen their understanding of a topic.
